The first 50% of the assistance is forgiven at 1/60th per month over the first 60 months of owner occupancy, and the remaining 50% is forgiven at the end of the 30-year term or first-mortgage maturity date if the borrower still meets the program conditions.
How do you apply?
Use an El Paso County participating lender, choose an eligible 30-year fixed FHA, VA, USDA, or Freddie Mac conventional first mortgage, meet the current income limits, and complete homebuyer education if the selected loan path requires it. Homes must be in El Paso County, including Colorado Springs.
